In Dedication
The Baby William Hope Link Archive is dedicated to the Labor and Delivery
Staff of St. Mary Corwin Medical Center of Pueblo, Colorado, for their extraordinarily
heroic, compassionate, and professional care of the unborn. We are ever grateful
for their outstanding care of our daughter Noelle during the critical days before our grandson's emergency premature birth in January 2002.
PRAYER
ALERT FROM LITTLE BEAR
January 19, 2002
Dear Friends and
Family,
My son Josh and
I just returned from our "Little Bear Outdoor Adventure Camp" at Horn Creek Camp, Westcliffe, Colorado. This is the soonest I could ask you
to go to the Lord with us in prayer. Here is the background for urgent prayer
needs for our family:
Last week on January
12, our daughter Noelle and her husband, Joshua Goforth, came to the camp with
us to minister throughout the week. On that evening, Noelle began to have signs
of premature labor. The next morning our music team member, Andrea Salter (a former
labor and delivery nurse), advised us to immediately leave the camp and take Noelle
to the nearest hospital in Pueblo for further examination. At the hospital she
was found to be fully dilated. Through ultrasound, the baby was found to be only
22 weeks along. Medical intervention and care has confined Noelle to hospital
bed rest, and miraculously her water has stayed intact. This is our first grandchild--Josh
and Noelle's first baby. You can well imagine what stress is upon all of us.
There are some immediate prayer requests that we would ask of you on our behalf:
1. Please pray that the bag of waters remains intact so the child will continue
to grow for as many weeks as possible. Each day is critical. At 22 weeks, 40%
of babies die at birth, 40% have serious physical damage, and 20% grow up healthy.
We are praying for a miracle birth. Each day is vital for the baby's development
for life this side of the womb. Please pray that the Lord will hold the bag of
waters like He did the Red Sea for the Hebrew children to escape the hand of Pharaoh.
2. Noelle cannot move from a Trendelenburg position (flat on the back with feet
elevated and head lowered) for the rest of the pregnancy while in the hospital.
Therefore, please pray she does not develop an infection.
3. Pray for a long, long, long, bed rest for Noelle so baby can grow.
4. Pray that the baby will supernaturally grow faster than normal, and that the
child will be a healthy and a chosen vessel for the Lord.
5. Pray for Joshua--that the Lord will provide for them by his freelance graphic
art work as he remains by Noelle's side 24 hours a day. He is able to work using
his industrial strength laptop while Noelle and baby pass through this trial--which
may take at least 2 months. They eventually will live at Marilyn's sister's house
in Colorado Springs until it is safe for
them to come home. The Lord will have to somehow provide for the expense of hospitalization
because they do not have insurance.
6. Pray for supernatural wisdom for the medical teams involved with this birth.
Marilyn and Aimee will remain in Colorado with Noelle until the baby is born,
and with the Lord's grace, I will continue to travel and minister. Josh our son
is with me, so I am playing "Mr. Mom" for now.
It is amazing to me that while millions of people every year work hard to figure
out a way to terminate their pregnancy, we are fighting for all we've got to have
this child. What a contrast! I cried enough tears to fill a bottle for 3 days,
and I am all cried out. The Lord has encouraged me to believe that it will be
His will for this child to "goforth." This was the word He gave
me about 5 days ago. It is neat, because their last name is Goforth. We are all
in peace at this time.
Thank you, dear friends, for standing in the gap on our behalf. I will keep you
informed and let you know what comes as a result of your love and prayers as time
allows in the near future.
In His Providential care,
"Little Bear" and family
P.S. Please pass
this along to your friends who may be the kind of people who would care to pray
with us. Thank you.
